We had a quacking time on the river!

I have lived in Windsor for over 9 years and have still not experienced all of the tourist attractions that Windsor has to offer.  One that I have been keen to experience is the Windsor Duck Tour and as we are now promoting this on our website, I thought the best way to describe the adventure would be to actually take the tour.  My colleague Leonie and I made our way down to the pick up point opposite The Theatre Royal for the 11am start and was greeted by Paul and Graham (the Duck Commanders!).  We knew from the moment we met them that this was to be a fun hour ahead!  Paul is not your normal run of the mill tour guide, he is very charismatic and made the adults as well as the kids laugh with his quick humour and interesting facts and figures about Windsor and Eton along the way.

We departed promptly at 11am so I’d recommend to get there at least 10 minutes earlier to choose your seat. We were then driven (by boat?!) to the slipway where we splashed into the river ( I’m sure I was just as excited as the kids on the boat!) and spent the next 30-40 mins enjoying the famous sights and views of Windsor and the castle that you do not see as well from the road.

There are two tours to choose from, the River Splash Tour or The River Splash and Road Tour where you spend half the time on the road and half on the water and they run around  8 tours per day from 10am in the height of the season (approximately 2-3 in low season)  The 2017 price for adult tickets is only £19 and children’s tickets range from £1 to £12 depending on ages.  There are also concessions for the over 60’s, students, carers and the disabled).

Thanks to Paul and Graham for an entertaining trip!
